University Medical Admissions Tests

From July 2006 all Scottish Medical schools as well as a number of English ones, will require all applicants to sit the UK Clinical aptitudes test(UKCAT) as part of the selection for Medicine.

Dundee University Medicine Visit Day                                            21^st June

This will take place at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School. Its purpose is to:

• Inform prospective students about studying at Dundee and about careers in medicine
• Allow prospective students to visit the medical school and meet current staff & students

University of Abertay Open Day                                                     28^th June

The day will offer lots of opportunities to gather information on courses, get involved in hands-on activities and view students’ work. There will also be information on accommodation and finance. Please register via the website on www.abertay.ac.uk

Glasgow Caledonian University Open Day                               13^th September

Explore the campus, find out more about undergraduate degree programmes and hear presentations. Day and evening sessions are available. More detailed information and registration details can be found on the website.

Imperial College London, Science & Engineering Open Day            22^nd June

Find out about the varied courses on offer, visit departments, residences and the student union. Admissions staff will be on hand to help with enquiries. Anyone interested should see me or their Guidance teacher as soon as possible for  a registration form.

Imperial College, Women into Science & Engineering                10-13^th July

This is a 4 day residential course. You will have the opportunity to take part in practical sessions, finding out more about the university and the courses on offer. Evening activities are provided and you will stay in college accommodation. All this is free of charge. Application forms from me or your Guidance teacher.
