Everyone who knew David was saddened by his sudden death in Thailand earlier this year. David was Principal Teacher of Music at LHSC for nearly thirty years and had taken early retirement in 2007 to live in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. David loved Thailand and its people. Thais are renowned for their gentleness and tranquil nature so it is all the more shocking that David suffered such a violent death.

He will be remembered fondly by many former pupils and staff of Lasswade as an accomplished composer and an inspirational teacher. As a tribute to David there will be a Memorial Concert on Friday 19th June in the school. Funds raised at the concert will be used for a trophy in his honour to be awarded each year for Music Composition.
